Whether you’re suffering from chronic pain as a result of a herniated disc, failed back surgery or some other reason, our next-generation spinal cord stimulation therapy can give you your old life back. Here are some key reasons to try high-frequency SCS:

  • High-frequency SCS is covered by most insurance plans
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Allows most people to stop taking all pain medications
  • Most procedures are outpatient, meaning no hospital stay
  • 10-day trial period helps determine if this procedure is right for you
  • No shocks when twisting or bending over, and no constant buzzing or tingling in the legs (called paresthesia) — which are common in older SCS systems

Reclaim the real “you” with our effective, minimally invasive SCS procedure.

Most chronic back and leg pain comes from nerve signals in your spinal cord. Abnormal excitation of these nerves — caused by an injury or degenerative condition — can result in a continuous stream of pain signals.

Many people have multiple back surgeries to try to relieve these aggravated nerves, often with only a stack of medical bills to show for it. However, our new high-frequency SCS procedure masks these pain signals by delivering a constant, low-voltage electrical current to the irritated nerves in your spinal cord. This electrical current calms the nerves, reducing the intensity of pain signals sent to your brain.

Here are just a few of the many benefits experienced by our patients who’ve received high-frequency SCS therapy:

  • Return to favorite activities
  • Better sleep without pain
  • No longer feeling like a burden on friends and family
  • Resolving depression caused by constant pain and inhibited mobility
  • Independence

Here’s a patient whose life was changed by high-frequency SCS therapy. Contact Boston Pain Care to find out how you can experience the same relief.

High-frequency SCS: greater relief and no side effects.

SCS therapy isn’t new. But the older low-frequency SCS therapies were far from ideal. Here are a few of the key advantages offered by the new technology:

Shock-free – Older SCS devices would sometimes shock patients when bending or twisting their backs. No more shocks with our high-frequency SCS!

Drive without elevated risk – Because of the risk of car accidents due to shocks (described in the previous point), doctors discouraged people from driving with their SCS device turned on. Now, high-frequency SCS patients can drive without pain or concern.

No persistent buzzing or tingling – Low-frequency SCS patients would have to choose between pain and a constant buzzing/tingling sensation in the legs, known as paresthesia. High-frequency SCS is completely paresthesia-free.

Proven to provide superior relief – After 24 months, high-frequency SCS provided a 66.9% decrease in back pain, compared to low-frequency SCS, which only resulted in a 41.1% decrease.¹*

Stay sedated through the entire procedure – Older placement techniques required us to wake you up mid-procedure to locate the most severe pain spots. During your high-frequency procedure, we keep you sedated the entire time.

Make sure high-frequency SCS helps you before having the full procedure.

Although 9 out of 10 people who participate in the 10-day trial period go on to have the full procedure¹, high-frequency SCS isn’t for everyone. Fortunately, the trial period set-up provides full-strength relief, allowing you to make an accurate assessment of the procedure’s effectiveness.

How does the trial period work?

We still perform a minimally invasive procedure to place two electrical leads next to your spinal cord. However, rather than implanting the control device under the skin, we leave it outside. Using a special securing strap, you’ll carry the control device on the outside of your body while evaluating the effectiveness of the system. If high-frequency SCS relieves your pain, we’ll perform a second procedure to place the device under the skin...

...which is covered by most insurance plans!

Providing patient-centric, life-changing pain relief.

We are a group of board-certified pain specialists who sought to fill the gap in chronic pain care. After years of treating chronic pain patients in a hospital setting, we came together to find a better, more patient-centric concept of treating and managing pain.

We’re proud to offer patients suffering from chronic back and leg pain a long-term treatment alternative to narcotic medications. High-frequency SCS — also called HF10Therapy by Nevro® — gives our patients a chance to end their debilitating pain and allow them to participate in the spontaneous activities they love.

Offering expert evaluations for high-frequency SCS at each of our three locations.
